Newsletter - March 15

Tis the eye of Irish Season,

It's once again the month of March; which I fondly refer to as Irish Season. This is my fifth season performing with the John Byrne Band. We've already played a string of shows among the greater Philadelphia area as well as a quick trip down to Hollywood, Florida to play a parade. This weekend is the culmination of the season. We'll play an array of traditional Irish music, Pogues covers, and a sprinkling of JB's original music. Stop by if nearby this weekend:

Friday, March 15 @ 8:00pm - Brittingham's Pub
Sunday, March 17 @ 11:00am - Irish Rover Station House
Sunday, March 17 @ 6:00pm - Kildare's Irish Pub

Friday, March 29 @ 7:00pm is Reverend TJ McGlinchey’s: Still In Love album release show upstairs at World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA). Still In Love, TJ's second full-length LP, is full of the stuff that RevTJ does best: memorable melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and toe-tapping rhythms. The new lineup of the RevTJBand includes Chris Dell'Osa (electric guitar), James Cooper (bass), and the legendary Freddie Berman (drums). I arranged the 5-piece horn section and recorded trumpet for the album, and I'll be leading the section live. EVENT

It seems public performances have downshifted in 2019 (compared to recent years). York Street Hustle is playing more private events lately. You Do You is producing a full length album. The John Byrne Band is also producing a full length album. For my own solo project, I'm producing 2 full length albums and pursuing bookings for later this year. There's still much bubbling and churning behind the scenes.

...pace yourself this weekend.
