Vince Tampio Fuses Jazz with Psychedelic Rock & EDM for SOUND PLAN

Vince Tampio self releases Sound Plan, a full length instrumental Jazz album. The music combines Jazz with Psychedelic Rock and Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Sound Plan is set to release Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The album release show will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at World Café Live (upstairs).

Vince Tampio (M.Mus.) is a professional trumpeter, arranger, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Philadelphia, PA. He performs and arranges with the Philadelphia Jazz Project, the York Street Hustle, the John Byrne Band, and Red 40 & the Last Groovement. “Basically he’s the go-to cross-genre horn-blowing utility man of the Philly scene” (John Vettese).

Sound Plan features performances by Vince Tampio on trumpet, synthesizer, acoustic guitar, electric bass, and percussion, Ben Diamond (Red 40 & the Last Groovement) on percussion, and on programmed drums. In addition to performing, Vince composed, engineered, and produced all six tracks featured on Sound Plan.

‘Slimery,’ ‘Afternoon,’ and ‘The Phantom Sweet Potato’ follow more traditional Jazz forms while ‘Sonic Ember’ and ‘L.T.’ are long form sonic explorations. Sound Plan juxtaposes acoustic tones with synthesized breadth to achieve an atmosphere inside which the listener can imagine themselves.
